Pro Series HTCARG Review by Just Some Guy
Considering the cost of these they are OK. They are on the truck and working as advertised... but I couldn't assemble them in the "low position" because of a manufacturing defect. Despite this I'm keeping them.... they are good enough for my basic needs.
As expected and per the instructions I had to drill the rails on my 2001 Silverado 2500HD. They fitted OK along with a tool box. I had to add some washers to make up for the short length of the upright mounting plates because they are shorter than the tool box by about 7 inches. The tool box would have been either bent up or sitting at a funny angle.
I thought that was a bit tight of them. They could have supplied some 1/4 inch spacers or something.
My biggest complaint is the instructions say you can set the cross braces to a high or low position by flipping them over. You have to knock out a plastic end plug & put it in the other end of the cross brace upright tube. The problem is I couldn't put them on the low position because when they drilled the holes in the upright tubular section of the cross brace bracket before welding they squashed the tube so it wont fit onto the upright. I need to figure out how to make the tube round again from the inside on a weld!!
The thumbnail of these bars on what looks like a white F150 shows the bars in the high position.
Second low level complaint after reading about packaging woes is that there was a hole in the corrugated card board box and at first I thought one of the Allen bolts was missing that holds the cross brace extension together.... but it must have been placed by the packer in the wrong plastic bag. I found everything once it was completely unpacked.
Edit: They bend really easy. Utter crap. Now off the truck and on craigs list.

Received this Cargo Rack in two days without extra shipping cost. It is a sturdier grade steel than I expected for the price. My son and I installed it on his truck in about 30 minutes with no problems. The only reason I gave it a 4, not a 5 is it was missing one assembly screw. This doesn't affect the use of the rack on our Ford Ranger, but it would have on a larger truck. It's a worthwhile product.
